Oyamazakura is a deep pink mountain cherry tree that grows wild in northern Japan. At Nishizao Plateau, which overlooks the Yamagata Basin and is a famous spot for Oyamazakura, you can enjoy a second round of cherry blossom viewing after the Somei-Yoshino cherry blossoms have finished.
This sake is made from Yamagata Prefecture's sake-making rice varieties "Dewasansan" and "Miyama Nishiki," and is a Junmai Daiginjo sake that fully brings out the flavor of each rice. It has a rich, warm flavor that sets it apart from ginjo sake with its flashy aroma, and when served chilled (at room temperature), its elegant, deep, subtle aroma stands out. It goes perfectly with early spring wild vegetable dishes.
