Yonezawa is the castle town of the Uesugi Yonezawa Domain, which had a fief of 150,000 koku and was founded by Uesugi Kenshin, a hero of the Sengoku period.
This sake was named Nihon Hibiki (Japanese Hibiki) and features Kenshin's military flag, the Hinomaru (Japanese flag on a navy blue background).
This Junmai Ginjo sake is made from carefully selected rice suitable for sake brewing, highly polished, and fermented for a long period at low temperature during the coldest months of the year.
It is a well-balanced drink with an elegant, rich aroma and a soft mouthfeel.
