"Yamagata Sanka" is a Junmai Daiginjo sake planned by the Yamagata Prefecture Sake Brewers Association, aiming to be the highest quality sake in Yamagata Prefecture, which means the highest quality sake in the world.
The raw rice used is "Yukimeji," a variety of rice developed in Yamagata Prefecture as sake rice for daiginjo sake, and is the one that has won the Prefectural Governor's Award, Zennoh Yamagata Prefecture Headquarters Steering Committee Chairman's Award, and Sake Rice Council Chairman's Award at the Yamagata Prefecture Excellent Sake Rice Contest held annually in Yamagata Prefecture. The sake is then brewed by a brewery that has achieved a high ranking in a competition for sake made with Yukimeji, judged by the Yamagata Prefecture Sake Brewers Association. Yamagata Sanka is a Junmai Daiginjo sake made from the best Yamagata sake rice of the year, by a brewery that is at the peak of its brewing season that year.
This year, the sake will be brewed using sake rice from Shiga Yoshihiro of Takahata Town, and will be produced by two breweries: Sawa Masamune (Furusawa Sake Brewery) and Uyou Ikken (Nakaoki Sake Brewery).
Please enjoy the sake from each brewery at a temperature between 10-15℃ (not too cold) in a slightly larger sake cup, taking your time to savor the aroma, flavor, and aftertaste. We promise you an elegant and beautiful sake at its finest.
We recommend storing it in the refrigerator at 5°C or below, as the flavor will change if stored at room temperature.
