Dojimotto is released when we're in a pinch.
The weather wasn't great in 2024, so the grapes ripened earlier than usual, resulting in lighter color and lower sugar content. We aged European varietals Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with the Japanese varietal Muscat Bailey A, in oak barrels before blending them.
The result is a medium-light wine that pairs well with food, giving it Dojimotto's characteristic approachable flavor.
I can almost hear the grapes in the vineyard and our local friends cheering us on, saying, "Doji (clumsy) us, Motto (more) effort!"
