I am currently working at a vineyard in Nagai City, Yamagata Prefecture. I have now made a wine that I had wanted to create since my youth, and I am delivering it to you.
It is the natural wine "C'est ma vie". "C'est ma vie" means "my life" in French.
The grapes are Muscat Bailey A from Kaminoyama City, Yamagata Prefecture, one of Japan's leading wine grape producing regions. These grapes are an indigenous Japanese variety originating from Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, and offer a spicy flavor with mild tannins. These grapes were brewed by Hiroaki Katayose, a winemaker who has been involved in grape cultivation and brewing in Burgundy and Champagne, France.
The finished C'est ma vie has both a sense of splendor and a calming elegance. For this reason, it pairs well not only with meat dishes but also with Japanese cuisine. Please try sipping it slowly; you will find the flavors intensify. In that sense, it also feels like it resonates with the land and people of Yamagata.
In daily life, there are good times and bad times. That is life.
I hope as many people as possible will taste this C'est ma vie and enjoy life.

Mr. Kashiwazaki, 67, a former writer. Our connection began through a chance encounter, and he is someone who purely enjoys agriculture, often coming to my farm, which is about an hour away from his workplace, even after work in the evenings to help out.
Mr. Kashiwazaki jumped into cultivation, brewing, and the liquor business without knowing anything about them. Yet, despite lacking knowledge or experience, he didn't hesitate to take the first step and continues to challenge new things every day. His attitude, in fact, feels like it is pushing our younger generation forward.
As he ages, there seem to be many things he struggles with or worries about in terms of understanding. (Perhaps it's just that I'm not good at explaining...) Nevertheless, during our time together, I've had the opportunity to deeply confront "what it means to live" and "what it means to grow old," and I myself have gained many insights and learned a lot.
Mr. Kashiwazaki had said, "I want to sell my own wine," but due to various circumstances, he has not yet acquired a liquor sales license. That is why I would be delighted if everyone could experience "Mr. Kashiwazaki's way of life" through this C'est ma vie. And it would be the greatest joy if you could support Mr. Kashiwazaki so that he can continue farming for as long as possible.
In this era of rapidly declining farmers, we want to continue to value activities that provide opportunities for as many people as possible to "take an interest in agriculture."
